POLLALIS HOUSE
Belmont, USA

1996-2005

  • This project was the enlargement of a respectable small 1950s house belonging to Spiros and Tatiana Pollalis. The original house was left intact, but the lowest parts of the plot were colonized with a generously-sized living room and several bedrooms. The roof gave way to a terrace overlooking the stream flowing through the woods. The distinct constructive language – light wood versus concrete blocks – makes both architectures coexist without renouncing their respective identities. In collaboration with Sandra Rush.
